New opportunity for a Mechanical Inspector to lead and oversee new construction at a large federal campus. This person must have prior experience with oversight of mechanical system installation, design/spec reviews, and experience with material take-offs.
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all mechanical components meet established quality standards and specifications. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity of our products and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. The Mechanical Inspector will utilize various inspection tools and techniques to assess product quality, contributing to the overall success of our manufacturing processes.
This person will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
- Responsible for supporting a construction management team to deliver capital construction projects for US Federal Government Clients
- Responsible for coordinating, and administering a group of projects or one major project with the assistance of the project team
- Reviews contracts, scope documents, and available data for the project, and confirms compliance with work completed by the general contractor
- Supports an integrated project team approach in working with designers, contractors and governing agencies
- Reviews and comments on design submissions, change orders, and contracts/sub-contracts, and represent the client interests to ensure control of and validate change orders are current, fair and efficiently processed.
- Reviews comments received from governing agencies on behalf of the client and coordinates timely resolutions
- Responsible to proactively monitor critical project milestone dependencies, and track actions which may result in risks to critical project milestones
- Reviews project key performance indicators and forecasts any modifications to schedules, cost estimates, and financial reports, and effectively reconciles risks to commitments that may exceed assigned schedules and budgets
- Monitors and controls contractual commitments to assure work being performed is in accordance with the specifications and terms of the contracts
- Reviews builder submittals and RFI documents, and provides field surveillance to ensure specified quality of design
- Conducts project coordination and client meetings as necessary to review progress and discuss upcoming work
- Works with stakeholders to negotiate and resolve conflicts, disputes, and potential claims on behalf of the client
Minimum Skills/Experience:
- AA/AS (US) in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Experience with US Federal Government projects
- 2+ years of progressive construction quality assurance, project inspection experience that includes knowledge of project phases: planning, design, preconstruction, construction, and turnover to operations
- Experience assisting in contact management, reviewing budgets, schedules, overseeing subcontractor performance, and working with stakeholders and governing agencies on behalf of a public-works owner
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- USACE Construction Quality Management (CQM)
- OSHA 10 Certification
